Workshop on Atmospheric Radiation and Remote Sensing 2019

From Sep. 17th to 19th, a workshop on atmospheric radiation and remote sensing was held in Inawashiro, Fukushima. Members of our laboratory and Irie laboratory (Chiba university), and a researcher from Meteorological Research Institute participated in this workshop.

In this workshop, each participant made a presentation on their own research theme and a discussion. In addition, we took a lecture on 3D atmospheric radiation transfer model MCARaTS, which was developed by associate professor Iwabuchi. By running this model with adjusting the parameters of atmospheric property (ex. air density and solar zenith angle), we understood the mechanism of scattering in solar radiation.

I feel the importance of promoting relationship between students, teachers and researchers. Moreover, I hope the workshop will be held every year. (M1 Yamashita)
